Starting My Cybersecurity Journey
I’m happy to share that I’ve started learning cybersecurity.

By Olumide Victor
This is something I've been interested in for a while, and I finally decided to take the step and start learning it properly.
So far, I've been introduced to the fundamentals of cybersecurity, networking, and how different security technologies are used to protect systems and information.
I've been learning about things like the CIA Triad, vulnerabilities and threats, IP addresses, ports, protocols, firewalls, IDS/IPS, Linux, and network security.
What I've enjoyed most so far is getting beyond the theory and actually trying things out. Even simple exercises have helped me understand concepts that can be difficult to fully grasp just by reading about them.
I know I still have a lot to learn, but I'm looking forward to building my skills step by step and getting more hands-on experience as I progress.
I'll be sharing some of what I learn here along the way, hopefully it can be useful to someone else who is also starting out.
For those already working in cybersecurity, what's one thing you wish you knew when you first started?
