Phishing Training That Sticks: Short Lessons, Local Scams, Kind Simulations

Most phishing training in Indian offices follows the same pattern: one long session a year, generic email examples and a completion certificate. Then someone clicks on a fake electricity disconnection SMS a month later. The fix is not more hours. It is a different design.

Train little and often, with local scams

• Lessons of 5 to 10 minutes, monthly or quarterly, each on one idea
• Real examples: bogus tax refunds, KYC updates, vendor bank changes, courier and UPI scams
• Cover SMS, WhatsApp and phone calls, not only email
• Offer lessons in Marathi, Hindi and English where teams need them
• Tailor by role: finance, HR, leadership and IT face different lures

Simulate kindly and measure what matters

• Get management and HR approval before any simulation
• Start easy, give friendly feedback right away, and avoid cruel lures about bonuses
• Share only team-level results
• Track click rate, credential entry, report rate and time to first report each quarter
