๐ฅ Everyone Is Still Hunting JS Secrets the Old Wayโฆ
In 2026, many bug hunters are still doing the same thing:
Collect JS โ Run secret scanner โ Check results
But I found something more interesting. ๐
I'm talking about TrinetLayer.
Instead of only scanning JavaScript files, it can start with a domain, perform deeper reconnaissance, discover subdomains, collect JavaScript files, and then analyze them for interesting secrets and endpoints.
And here's the part I found really interesting:
It doesn't just show you a potential secret โ it also gives you context and guidance for validating the finding.
โก Let's Try It
Visit:
Open the JS Analyzer and scroll down.
Add the authorized domain you want to analyze and click:
๐ START NEW SCAN๐ START NEW SCANNow wait for the scan to finish.
One cool thing is that you can actually watch the reconnaissance happening live in the terminal below the scanner.
You can see the tool discovering assets, collecting JavaScript, and processing the target.
๐ After the Scan
Once it's finished, head over to:
Reports
This is where things get interesting.
You can see the discovered subdomains, including their status, and review the findings collected during the scan.
And if the analyzer discovers a potential secret inside JavaScript, click on the finding.
You'll get information about:
- ๐ Where it was discovered
- ๐ What type of secret it appears to be
- ๐งฉ Relevant context
- ๐งช Guidance for safe validation
There's also a Secret Validator for situations where you've discovered something that looks like an API key or token and need to determine whether it's actually valid, within an authorized testing environment.
