I Started Learning Cybersecurity. Then One Link Made Me Think Twice.
An ordinary encounter on X reminded me that learning can change how we behave.

I was scrolling through X when I came across a post about getting paid to train AI models.
Interested, I clicked the link.
The website felt strange, and I wasn't comfortable with what I was seeing. When it asked for my email address and password, I became even more skeptical.
I exited.
I can't say whether the website was malicious because I didn't verify it. But I wasn't comfortable sharing my information, and that was enough reason to stop.
What interested me most was what the experience made me realise.
I'm learning cybersecurity, and although I still struggle to explain some concepts in my own words, I'm beginning to approach the internet differently.
I'm questioning unfamiliar links. I'm thinking more carefully before sharing personal information.
I'm beginning to understand that cybersecurity isn't just about hackers and computer systems. It also concerns the everyday decisions we make online.
This experience didn't make me an expert at detecting scams. It simply reminded me that caution and verification matter.
I'm still learning. I still have a lot to figure out.
But today, I can see that what I'm learning is beginning to influence my decisions.
And that feels like progress.
One step at a time.
