Why 90% of People Use Weak Passwords Without Knowing…
"I've never been hacked.
That's what many people say… until the day they can't log into their email, Facebook, bank app, or even their phone.
Here's the surprising part: most people don't use weak passwords on purpose.
They use passwords that feel "good enough.
Maybe it's your child's name with your birth year.
Maybe it's the same password you've been using for years because it's easy to remember.
Or maybe you have one "strong" password that you use for everything.
It feels safe.
It isn't.
As someone who works in IT, I've seen people lose access to important accounts simply because one website they signed up for years ago was compromised. Once criminals got that password, they tried it on Gmail, Facebook, Microsoft, online banking, and other services.
Sometimes it worked.
Imagine leaving your house key under the doormat and then using that same key for your office, your car, and your safe.
That's exactly what reusing passwords does online.
The good news is that protecting yourself doesn't mean creating impossible passwords you'll never remember.
It means creating unique passwords for your most important accounts and using tools that make managing them easier.
If you only make one security improvement this week, let it be this one.
Your email, bank account, family photos, work files, and social media accounts are worth far more than the few minutes it takes to secure them.
Don't wait until you're locked out of your own digital life before taking password security seriously.
Question: When was the last time you changed the password for your primary email account?
Let me know in the comments, I'd love to hear your answer.
