As mentioned before, Veeam's bounty program strikes again: some dangerous vulnerabilities are exposed and corrected timely. Now it's your turn to patch your backup servers soon.
Useful to repeat: we are now seeing many vulnerabilities and patches simply because they are discovered, disclosed and patched.
It's the same with your motorbike or car producer: when they send you a letter "hey come here 'cause we have to correct a issue" it's not because the quality is worst than before: they are no longer waiting for the next scheduled maintenance to "patch" the issue.
Refer to the official KB: keep in mind that a little patch (iso or exe) is available for recent windows installations to simply resolve&upgrade the VBR. For the virtual appliance go straigth to the updater interface and let it do the job for you.
Don't follow my example: the kb was too long and I was too lazy and dediced to download the whole iso of the new release and made a mess in my lab ;-)
P.S.: the new release has also a bunch of bug fixes and enhancements, read the KB to see them
