Day 1 — Starting My 100-Day Journey to a Cybersecurity Job in Qatar
Hey everyone,
I'm Fathima, and today I'm starting something I've been thinking about for a long time.
For the next 100 days, I'll be documenting my journey of trying to land my first job in Cybersecurity in Qatar. From Day 1 to Day 100, I'll share everything I learn — the topics I study, the labs I complete, my successes, my mistakes, and the lessons I pick up along the way.
It's been a long time since I started applying for jobs, but as a fresher, getting callbacks hasn't been easy. In many cases, companies are looking for experience, and even internship opportunities can be difficult to find. But instead of giving up, I've decided to focus on improving myself every single day and documenting that process publicly.
This is actually my first time writing on a public platform. I don't know if anyone will read these posts or follow this journey, but that's okay. What matters is that I'm finally taking a step I've been afraid to take for a long time.
This blog will become my learning journal and portfolio. Some posts may explain cybersecurity concepts, some may cover labs and projects, and others may simply be reflections on my job search journey. My goal is to make sure that every day I learn something valuable instead of spending hours endlessly scrolling the internet.
People often ask me what specific cybersecurity role I'm targeting. The truth is, I'm still exploring. Most of my experience so far comes from studying, labs, and hands-on practice rather than working in a professional environment. So during these 100 days, I'll be learning as much as I can about different areas of cybersecurity and IT while searching for the right opportunity.
I've always loved writing since childhood, but I've never shared my thoughts publicly before. If you happen to read my posts and notice areas where I can improve, whether it's my writing, my technical knowledge, or my career approach, please feel free to connect with me and share your advice.
Maybe this journey will help someone else who's struggling to get started. Maybe it will motivate another fresher who feels stuck. And hopefully, by the end of these 100 days, I'll be closer to the career I've been working toward.
For now, this is Day 1.
Thank you for being here, and welcome to the journey.
