My Cybersecurity Journey as a Student

Cybersecurity is not just about hacking systems — it is about understanding how systems work, how they fail, and how we can protect them.

I am currently an undergraduate student exploring cybersecurity, networking, Linux, and programming. My journey is still in progress, but I wanted to share what I have learned so far.

How I Started

At first, I had a very basic idea of cybersecurity — I thought it was only about hacking and breaking systems.

But as I started learning networking and Linux, I realized cybersecurity is much deeper than that. It is more about understanding systems than just attacking them.

What I Am Learning Right Now

Currently, I am focusing on:

  • Networking fundamentals (VLANs, routing, switching)
  • Linux and Windows systems
  • Basic programming
  • Cybersecurity concepts
  • Hands-on labs using Cisco Packet Tracer

What I Learned So Far

One important thing I realized is:

Theory alone is not enough. Practical experience is what builds real understanding.

Working on real network setups and configurations helped me understand concepts much better than just reading books or watching videos

My Current Goal

My goal is to become a strong cybersecurity professional who understands both:

  • Network infrastructure
  • Security systems and threats

I am also actively building projects and improving my portfolio step by step.

Final Thoughts

I am still learning, and this is just the beginning of my journey.

I will continue sharing what I learn, my mistakes, and my progress.

If you are also learning cybersecurity or tech, let's grow together.
