Happening Today: “CVE and AI Vulnerability Discovery” Virtual Conference

The CVE™ Program is hosting a free public virtual conference, "CVE in an Era of AI-Enabled Vulnerability Discovery," today, Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM EDT. Registration closed on July 27. The event agenda was sent to all registered attendees.

This event will be a structured community discussion about how AI-enabled vulnerability discovery is affecting the CVE Program and the broader vulnerability management ecosystem — and where current models may need to adapt.

As detailed in our initial blog published on June 15, 2026, "CVE in an Era of AI-Enabled Vulnerability Discovery: Opening a Community Discussion," AI-enabled vulnerability discovery is affecting more than how vulnerabilities are found. It is also changing how vulnerability information is reported, validated, coordinated, remediated, published, enriched, consumed, and acted upon. At the same time, the CVE Program will continue to serve as a global public good and shared foundation for vulnerability identification. CVE IDs will remain identifiers, not standalone risk determinations or directives to take specific action. Federation, accountability, transparency, and data quality will remain central to the program's operational goals.

The central question then is how the CVE Program can continue to serve as a trusted and scalable foundation for vulnerability identification while the broader ecosystem adapts to greater speed, volume, uncertainty, and AI-assisted consumption. The purpose of this event is to bring the community together to open a discussion about these very important issues and gather practical input from the people doing the work every day.
