There are a number of changes that can make your everyday tasks simpler on Linux. However, there are a few that can be a great way to complement Linux for its better performance over Windows.
First of all, there is always a need for permissions. On a daily basis, there are tasks that need permission as a root user, like upgrading software and installing updates. On the contrary, there are tasks that work on an automatic basis.
There are also ways to update the software through app stores that Linux distributions have by default. You can even change the app store according to your requirements.
You even have the option to postpone updates until a later date, which cannot be done on Windows; it can install updates while you restart your PC.
Also, root privileges can be a great way to restrict access for the new software that you install on your Linux. This way, you will be able to keep your system secure from any unauthorised changes to your system files.
However, there can also be times when there are threats to the system. In such cases, the open-source nature of Linux can be a boon.
There are always possibilities that the lines of code may have some errors. We can call them bugs, and those can be freely reviewed by researchers and experts from any corner of the world. Then, we get the comfort of having timely updates that take care of the safety and smooth running of the system.
