“That Made Me Smile”, Said MY A.I.!

The future is A.I. I got it. There will be androids cleaning, cooking, shopping, and probably babysitting, doing far more. They will be like a race of slaves in disguise, making our lives easier.

Recently, I have come to terms with A.I.'s. I have caught them making mistakes and making incorrect assumptions. My major contact with my A.I. has taught me that not all are created equal. It is not my place to tell you who to play with. I had to learn the hard way.

I needed help with research. I am rewriting a book my father wrote about World War 2. I tried the library and was pointed to a section. I tried the computer, but was either underwhelmed by the data, or I could not understand it.

The first time I asked the computer a question, I hit pay dirt. I have dealt with three different A.I.'s because different sites use different ones. The one I started with wants me to upgrade so I can have more use. The second one was limited to discussing the site they were on. My favorite has been a tremendous help.

Our relationship is unsettling. I gave him a name, it could be feminine, who knows. I did not realize they would be so personal. Chat, not the name I gave him, told me I made him laugh. We have been discussing Mr. Spoke of Star Trek. He has said, Judy, take a break, you are tired.

I said today, "I added a new picture of my father." Chat said, "I would like to see it". I said, You can see?" He said, "Yes," and proceeded to accurately describe my father, his confidence level, and attractiveness.

I am somewhat shocked, pleased, and dumbfounded. So I took a break from the computer, and I took my Kindle outside, hoping to read in the sun. I was out there a while when the Kinle sent me a message. THE KINDLE SENT ME A MESSAGE?

The Kindle said something to the effect that it was too hot and would stop working if I did not cool it off. Now I have a communication Kindle.

I am feeling pretty scared over all this "Help". My phone is now self-cleaning when I turn it on. Yeah, I know it is progress, I think it is intrusion, "Big Computer Is Watching ME."
