My Body

By Rubysk
My body
Is never perfect.
My body
Sends me the cues,
My mind ignores.
My body
Has been neglected.
My mind contributes.
The consequences of my own actions
process too late.
My body,
Marked with scars of my own doing.
Ribs and hip bones that are visible,
Cracked lips,
Slashed hips.
I manifest, I pray, I hope,
But I'm not perfect yet.
My body
I punish,
From my own dissatisfaction.
I got sucked into the feeling
Of decaying,
Deteriorating,
And destroying myself.
My body
Cannot fool me.
I will fall further
Into the mirror's reflection.
My biggest enemy,
Or my best friend.
My body
Is another's dream.
But to me,
A nightmare.
My body
Stumbles on flat flooring.
Woozy when standing still.
My body
Is crying,
But not from my eyes.
It begins to ache.
My heart racing,
My head dizzy,
My legs shaking.
My body,
Will it ever be perfect enough?
