Most people use the internet every day without thinking much about what happens behind the screen. We share information, make payments, attend classes and store personal details online. But every digital activity also brings questions about privacy, safety and the protection of information. Understanding these risks is becoming an important part of being digitally aware.
With this in mind, University Polytechnic at Galgotias University hosted the CyberSec Noida Meetup 2026 — Cyber Security and Digital Forensics Meetup on 26 September 2026. The event took place at the D Block Auditorium and was organised in collaboration with Cyber Secured India, MKITOS and Foxfoster.
Connecting classroom learning with industry experience
The meetup was planned to introduce students to the practical side of cybersecurity and digital forensics. Instead of limiting the discussion to textbook concepts, the event gave students an opportunity to hear from professionals working in the field and understand some of the challenges they encounter.
The programme included expert talks by cybersecurity professionals. These sessions covered subjects related to digital security, online threats, digital forensics, security practices and developments in the industry. Such discussions can help students understand how theoretical knowledge is used when organisations deal with real security concerns.
A panel discussion brought together industry and academic perspectives. It offered a space to discuss current challenges, changing security requirements and the skills expected from people entering the field. For students who are still exploring their career options, hearing different professional viewpoints can make the subject easier to understand.
Why digital awareness matters to students
Cybersecurity is not limited to people who want to become security specialists. Anyone who uses digital platforms needs to understand basic online safety. Students regularly work with email accounts, learning platforms, personal devices and online services. Knowing how digital information can be exposed or misused helps them make more careful decisions.
The meetup also introduced students to career areas such as cybersecurity, digital forensics and ethical hacking. These fields require more than an interest in computers. They call for problem-solving, attention to detail, patience and a willingness to keep learning as technology and security challenges change.
Students participated in discussions and interacted with the speakers, asking questions about career paths, technical skills, industry expectations and related certifications. These conversations gave them an opportunity to connect classroom subjects with the questions they may face while preparing for professional roles.
Learning that continues after the event
An event like CyberSec Noida Meetup can be a useful starting point for students who want to explore digital security more seriously. The next step is to keep building knowledge through regular practice, careful study and an understanding of responsible technology use.
For students at Galgotias University, the meetup offered a chance to look beyond familiar academic lessons and hear how professionals approach an important area of the digital world. Its value lies not only in the topics discussed during the sessions, but also in the questions students can continue exploring afterwards. In a connected world, learning how to protect digital information is a practical skill worth developing.
