2023 mid..I was working as an executive at a Call center when the rumors of a notorious application started to surface. They said it could talk almost like a human, could complete phrases, express "intelligently". The Gpt 3.0 of Open AI started to make waves. No voice assistance/site crawling/Img to video/ Video generation abilities were yet unleashed; and yet people treated it like Cortana (HALO game reference for the unknown).
Fast forward today, we have an unimaginable amount of "creative" artists dive bombing the internet with their "creativity" they so call it "Artistic" Intelligence.
Present literally feels like a weird cocktail mix of Sky Net(Terminator for the uninitiated) and The Pursuit of Happiness. At one end we have the cyber-"punks" merrily maxing out the AI juices out of the models with upsurd "creations"; and on the other hand we have the employed folks losing their sanity over the state of the art capabilities of LLM's.
The rise of Cyber-"punks" :
Definitely not the ones we are used to seeing in popular culture. We here will be referring to the genral public who loves using the models to spawn weird creations bound/limitied only to the data of this planet fed to the big fat LLM's. And to back these "creative art" we have the marketing strategists of the Big LLM firms who "claim" thier models are now capable of almost cloning the thoughts of an individual.
Havoc in the Corporate Battlefield:
This is the most fascinating part. As a dev who now works at the heart of chaos (IT industry), a circus event of employee monkeys crying over losing their sanity is a normal scene (just like a scrum call) in every day life. Not just the theatrics but there have also been scenarios of multiple firing of employees; AI or not. Some experts claim it is the heavy workforce hired during pandemic that has become unstable so this is more like a Ragnarok move to hack off the crew.
Others claim/blame the AI revolution. The fact that AI can automate most of the mundane tasks so companies are now shaving off workforce to save on the annual gross earnings.
MY View :
This comes from someone who literally wrestles with ai agents/chatbots on a daily basis working on the core of the Red Zone. I feel we are at an experimental stage and bitter truth; the duration of this experiment will not be over any time soon. Every One has dynamic opinions about the present :
1.scientists promoting thier paper research,
2.founders pushing their models for gaingin money;
3.Wise researchers warning the implications its use;
4.the unkown unitiated monkey crew harboring a strong grudge against it. I belong 70% to the 3rd and 30% rest is yet to be decided 🫡
But the hidden truth; Over Reliance on these tools. Even basic tasks like composing a sentence, calcualting %, making a decision have been seen to outsourced via the agents (LLM models). This is where things literally start to go "Skynet" -ways. That is when you lose your superior asset as a Homo Sapien and start becoming a lab monkey depending on the Ai agents for basic tasks. It hits harder when one day you realise (even if you) that a subtle to complex problem that you could solve back in the day is now taking time and you act like a Relapsed patient wanting to grab the liquor bottle/drug and take a chug from it (liquor = = ai).
And this exactly creates the recursive chaos in the Corporate battlefield. Watch how it goes:
Over dependence on AI — → decrease self intelligence → try to learn new skill set (since job market requires so) — -> AB-use AI again — -> skip fundamentals — -> flunk the interview (because skill gap; missing foundations) — -> AB-use AI agian for Roadmap → back to step 1 and over again 😭😭

And thats that. One thing is for sure, finding your way back or rather re wriring your brain back to the way it worked is the sustainable fix here to cope up with the ominous surge of "Absurd" — Intelligence. You dont want to trade off your CI (Common Intelligence) in exchange for AI 😉
