There were numerous things that I had done back when I didn't know any better. Picking up bugs was one of them. It was one of my childhood hobbies, and this was back when I wasn't concerned about possible diseases that I could get from picking up any bugs. I'll mention a number of the bugs that I used to catch.

It would usually be in either the frontyard or backyard of my parent's house that I would pick up or catch bugs. Other times could of been at or around a relative's house, a friend's house, a playground, or a even some store. I used to pick up caterpillars, though I usually picked them up with a leaf or a stick. I wouldn't try to pick up the ones that have spikes, at least not with my hands. A more common bug that I used to go out to pick up are crickets in the backyard, especially when I heard them chirping. They're weren't easy to catch because of all the jumping, but I would catch them from time to time. I used to catch a number of flying insects, including butterflies, moths, ladybugs, and fireflies. The latter were bugs that I commonly saw at night in a neighborhood that me and my parents used to live in prior to my parents moving elsewhere.

I even tried to catch houseflies, though considering how fast they can fly, I had rarely caught any of them. These days, I have good enough reflexes to where I would do a rather good job at killing houseflies with my own 2 hands. I'm good at killing gnats with my own 2 hands as well. I used to call. I don't try to kill butterflies nor ladybugs. I don't consider neither of them as pests. The most common bug that I used to get in my hands isn't a bug. It's a crustacean called a Roly-Poly. I called them pillbugs, which is something that many other people would call them.

I remember my parents telling me to never pick up any Spiders, and because of them, I never tried to. Spiders aren't bugs. They're arachnids, which have 8 eight legs while bugs have 6 legs. While it had been said on nature shows that the poison of most spiders aren't deadly to humans, I still decided to not try to pick any of them up. My dad did say in his own words that while a house shouldn't have too many spider webs, it's okay to keep spiders around because with their webs, spiders can catch houseflies, gnats, and other pests. So while I wouldn't try to hold any spiders, they're still okay to keep around.

In conclusion, I used to catch and hold bugs back when I was a kid. Now I don't. Enjoy the rest of the year. The End.
