Hyderabad has become one of India's busiest cities for identity governance work. Global capability centres in HITEC City and Gachibowli, banks, and IT services firms all run identity programmes, and many of them use SailPoint IdentityIQ (IIQ). If you work in IT support, Active Directory administration or security operations, learning IIQ is one of the more direct routes into a better-paid IAM role. This guide sets out what a realistic 45-day learning plan looks like, what training costs in 2026, and what the job market expects.
Who this roadmap is for
It suits working IT professionals with some enterprise experience: system administrators, help desk and L2 support engineers, security analysts, and developers who want to move into identity. You don't need prior SailPoint experience. Comfort with Active Directory, user accounts and basic scripting makes the first two weeks much easier. Complete freshers with no IT work experience usually find IIQ hard, because most of it is built around real enterprise scenarios.
The 45-day roadmap, week by week
Week 1: foundations. Identity and access management concepts (identities, accounts, entitlements, provisioning, governance) and how IdentityIQ is put together: the application server, database, connectors and the main objects you'll work with.
Weeks 2–3: getting data in. Application onboarding, aggregation and correlation, scheduled tasks and jobs, and the configuration files that control them. By the end of week 3 you should be able to onboard an application end to end.
Weeks 3–4: logic and access models. BeanShell rules (where they fit and when not to use them), role management, and policy management, including separation-of-duties policies.
Week 5: governance. Risk scores, groups and workgroups, and access certifications: building, running and closing a campaign the way an auditor expects.
Week 6: automation. Lifecycle events for joiners, movers and leavers, custom workflows, quick links and reporting.
Final days: troubleshooting and interviews. Reading logs, fixing aggregation and provisioning failures, and practising the scenario questions Hyderabad interviewers ask, such as "a leaver still has access in one application; walk me through how you'd find out why".
Plan for about 5–6 hours a week of live classes plus practice. Evening batches are the norm because most learners work full time.
What SailPoint training costs in Hyderabad in 2026
Live IIQ courses in India generally cost between ₹20,000 and ₹26,000. Recorded-only courses are cheaper, but you lose the chance to ask why something failed, which is most of the learning in IIQ. When you compare institutes, check five things:
- Does the syllabus cover rules, workflows, certifications and troubleshooting, not just onboarding?
- Who is the trainer, and how many years have they spent on real deployments?
- Are classes live, and are recordings available afterwards?
- How many learners are in a batch?
- Do they describe placement as "assistance" (honest) or "guaranteed" (a red flag)?
What the job market looks like
Typical market ranges in India are ₹4–7 LPA for entry-level IAM analyst roles, ₹10–18 LPA for SailPoint engineers and consultants, and ₹20–35 LPA for senior architects with 7+ years. These are estimates, not promises. Pay depends heavily on whether you can show hands-on work, so build a short portfolio as you learn: an onboarded application, a certification campaign and a lifecycle workflow you can explain step by step.
Hyderabad interviews lean towards scenarios rather than definitions. Expect questions on aggregation errors, rule types, certification revocations and joiner-mover-leaver flows.
One option to consider
IAM Careers runs live SailPoint IIQ training for learners in Hyderabad: 45 days online, 15 modules from IAM basics to troubleshooting, ₹25,000, a maximum of 15 learners per batch, and recordings for 2 years. The trainer has 15 years of IAM implementation experience. The next batch starts on 9 November 2026, with classes at 8 PM IST from Monday to Friday, and the first class is free to attend as a demo. Practice is guided and hands-on, and placement assistance comes with no job guarantee. The full module list is on the IIQ course page.
Whichever institute you choose, the roadmap above is a good yardstick: if a course skips rules, certifications or troubleshooting, it isn't preparing you for the interviews Hyderabad employers actually run.
