Building a Cyber Aware Generation: Cyber Security Awareness Programmes at Moulana Abul Kalaam Azad High School & Genius Academy,Chandan Nagar,Indore(M.P.)
In today's digital age, children are introduced to smartphones, the internet, online learning platforms, and digital technologies at a very young age. While these advancements create exciting learning opportunities, they also expose students to cyber risks such as phishing, online scams, identity theft, cyberbullying, and privacy breaches.
To empower young learners with the knowledge and confidence to navigate the digital world safely, Project CyberShield, an initiative of Naksh Foundation, in collaboration with TechDefenders (The Cyber Security Experts) and Aim for the Awareness of Society (AAS), successfully organized two Cyber Security Awareness Programmes at Moulana Abul Kalaam Azad High School and Genius Academy, Chandan Nagar, Indore.
Empowering Students Through Cyber Awareness
The awareness programmes were designed to help students understand the importance of cyber safety and responsible digital behaviour. Although the sessions were tailored according to the age group of the participants, the objective remained the same: to build a strong foundation of cyber awareness from an early age.
Students learned how simple precautions can protect them from online threats and how responsible digital behaviour contributes to a safer internet for everyone.
Through interactive discussions, practical demonstrations, real-life cybercrime examples, and engaging classroom activities, students actively participated and developed a better understanding of cyber security.

The programmes encouraged students to ask questions, discuss real-world cyber incidents, and understand how to protect themselves while using digital devices and online platforms.
Interactive Learning Beyond the Classroom
Learning becomes more meaningful when students actively participate. To make the sessions engaging and memorable, TechDefenders (The Cyber Security Experts) organized interactive awareness activities at both schools.
At Moulana Abul Kalaam Azad High School, students enthusiastically participated in a Cyber Safety Quiz Competition, where they tested their understanding of cyber security concepts and demonstrated excellent awareness.
At Genius Academy, specially designed for students from Class 1 to Class 8, a Cyber Safety Drawing Competition encouraged children to creatively express important cyber safety messages through artwork. The activity made learning enjoyable while reinforcing safe digital habits in an age-appropriate way.
These activities helped students not only understand cyber safety but also apply what they had learned in a fun and engaging environment.
Sessions Delivered by Dedicated Cyber Security Trainers
The awareness programme at Moulana Abul Kalaam Azad High School was conducted by Miss. Shruti Sahu, who guided students on identifying cyber threats, practising cyber hygiene, and becoming responsible digital citizens.
The session at Genius Academy was delivered by Mr. Devidas Jamra, who introduced younger students to the fundamentals of cyber safety using simple language, interactive storytelling, and practical examples suitable for primary school learners.
Their practical approach made cyber security concepts easy to understand and encouraged students to adopt safe online practices in their everyday lives.
A Collective Step Towards a Cyber Secure Future
The success of these awareness programmes was made possible through the support of the school management, principals, teachers, coordinators, and the enthusiastic participation of students from both institutions.
Building a cyber-aware society requires collaboration between educational institutions, cyber security professionals, and social organizations. Every awareness programme conducted under Project CyberShield is another step toward creating responsible digital citizens and strengthening cyber resilience at the grassroots level.
