The truth about the lies we live in.

We live in lies; running from the truth.

For may fellow teenager I will slap you with the truth, but hear me out first. Many of us are often hiding our true feeling s— our suffering and struggle. Pretending were okay, but we aren't. We escape in lies to cope with pain.

We have to stop fooling ourself that we are okay, cause we aren't. To be honest, a lies is often kinder than the truth, but living on it is just escaping from the reality. It's painful and hard to face the truth, because we are used to the comfort of the lie.

But It's okay to be vulnerable, to speak the truth and stop living in lies. Remember, we are just "human". It's never wrong to face the truth about how you feel; it is always much better to speak than to stay silent.

Who can I peel off or face the truth if I am afraid?

It's normal to feel scared — to fear judgement, being misunderstood or being rejected. The truth is, you don't have to "peel off the mask" for everyone all at once. Vulnerability is a risk, and like any risk, you should manage it carefully.

  1. You have to accept the vulnerable, weak and wounded part of ourselves. You're building trust on yourself.
  2. Find a safe circle and spaces were you can be vulnerable.
  3. Don't force yourself to peel everthing; start small. For example, instead of saying "I'm fine" when someone asks how you are, try saying, "I've actually been feeling a bit overwhelmed lately."
  4. Accept fear. Remember this quote from One Piece. "Courage is not the absence of fear. It is acting in spite of the fear".
