🩹 PATCH NOW
F5 patches three critical NGINX flaws On October 14, 2026, F5 issued an out-of-band advisory (K000163408) covering 11 NGINX issues. Three are critical at CVSS v4 9.2: two heap buffer overflows (CVE-2026–15176, CVE-2026–93479) and a use-after-free (CVE-2026–97205).
- Who can exploit it: an unauthenticated remote attacker, using crafted HTTP requests.
- Impact: crashing worker processes. Code execution is possible only where ASLR is disabled or bypassed.
- Conditions: each bug needs a specific config: alias with $request_filename, regex captures in map, or AIO plus SSI include virtual.
- What to patch: the NGINX data plane only. That covers NGINX Plus, Open Source, Ingress Controller, Gateway Fabric, Instance Manager and F5 WAF/DoS for NGINX.
- Exploitation: none reported in the wild, and none of the three was in CISA KEV as of Oct 15 .
Do: Upgrade NGINX Open Source to 1.30.6 or 1.31.7, and Plus/Ingress to F5's fixed builds. Until then, turn off aio or SSI and switch map regexes to named captures. Read More

UK FCA says firms must report AI failures and near-misses
In an October 19, 2026 speech at Bloomberg's UK Policy Series, FCA chief data officer Jessica Rusu said firms' existing duty to report major incidents must extend to significant AI failures and near-misses. Echoing the UK AI Minister, she called near-miss reporting for agentic AI a regulatory and a national security priority. This is a stated expectation, not a new rule, and it came with no thresholds or definitions. UK financial services contributed £223.6 billion, 8% of national output, in 2025. Read More

Microsoft Adds Dynamic Permissions for AI Agent Security
Microsoft is introducing dynamic permission controls for AI agents, treating them as internal users rather than external applications. The new security framework grants agents access on a per-task basis and automatically adjusts permissions based on calculated risk scores.
