My First Bug Found Me (I Wasn’t Even Looking)
Sometimes the universe just hands you a payout.

I wasn't supposed to find anything that day.
I was bored. Scrolling Twitter. Avoiding real work.
Clicked a random link someone posted. Some small website I'd never heard of.
Created an account. Just to see what it looked like.
Then I noticed something weird. My profile page had a parameter in the URL. ?user=123. Classic IDOR. But I wasn't hunting. I was just clicking around like a normal person.
Changed it to 124. Got someone else's profile.
Changed it to 1. Got the admin account.
Full name. Email. Hashed password. Not even the main target I was supposed to be testing that week.
I sat there for a minute. Laughing. This wasn't skill. This wasn't even effort. This was pure luck.

What I Did Next
Reported it. The program wasn't even on my radar. I had to look up if they had a bounty program.
They did. Small one. $200 max.
But the admin account was the CEO's personal account. They took it seriously. Sent me $500 within a day.
All because I was bored and clicked a random link.

Why This Should Scare You
If I could find that by accident, imagine what someone actually looking could find.
I wasn't even hunting. I was procrastinating.
The bugs are everywhere. You just have to be there to see them.

Another One
A friend of mine found a bug while signing up for a newsletter.
He entered his email. Got a confirmation email. Clicked the link.
Noticed the link had ?email=hisemail@gmail.com.
Changed it to email=admin@target.com. The confirmation page loaded. He was "confirmed."
He never had access to the admin email. But he was now a confirmed admin on their site.
SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS. For checking a newsletter sign-up link.

What These Mean
The biggest bugs aren't the ones you spend hours hunting for.
They're the ones you stumble into because you were curious. Because you clicked something weird. Because you didn't assume everything worked.
That's not a technique. That's a mindset.

Your Move Today
Stop trying so hard.
Pick a random target. A small one. Something no one talks about. Click around like a confused user.
Change every number you see. Every email. Every parameter.
Don't look for bugs. Look for weird.
The bugs will come.
