A few months back, this passive income project was just a simple lead magnet I set up to test the waters. It brought in a small amount — barely enough to pay for a tank of gas — but I watched it grow bit by bit into a steady income source.

Now, it's almost enough to cover half the mortgage for a $300,000 bungalow!

Watching this growth got me wondering what could happen if I committed fully. These recent results have transformed my approach to passive income, and I'm excited to share four specific steps that could make your journey faster.

Step 1: Repurpose Your Content

The first big step was repurposing content. I started by maximizing each piece of content I created. I would begin with YouTube videos, turn their transcripts into articles, and post them to my Beehiiv newsletter website as an initial earning center. Then, I'd repost that same article to a large publication on Medium. Each post amplified my reach without requiring additional filming or writing, and the results showed up quickly. Repurposing content brought in new eyes and, with them, new income.

Step 2: Automate Wherever Possible

While content repurposing was effective, I needed to streamline the process to save time. I set up automated workflows on Make.com, which generated unique articles and automatically shared them across social media platforms. This shift significantly boosted my reach with minimal effort. These automations took repetitive tasks off my plate, freeing up time to focus on growth.

Step 3: Create Value with Membership Tools

The third step involved offering value through my store on Whop (tutorial here). Initially, I bundled daily tools I was using, like my YouTube summary generator and an Amazon product-to-blog converter, into a membership model with a 7-day free trial and a low-cost paid tier.

As I created more automations, membership grew, and I started raising the price to reflect the added value. Early adopters lock in their initial rate, and this project quickly grew to $600 a month, giving me confidence that I was onto something sustainable.

Step 4: Scale with Blueprint Offers and Automations

Recently, my lead magnets evolved into a library of blueprints, each addressing a specific audience challenge.

I automated responses to comments on my lead magnet offers, driving engagement and traffic back to my content.
