On 14th February, I had the opportunity to attend a Pre-Hackathon Generative AI Workshop at Arham International Institute of Information and Security, Gultekdi Campus, and it turned out to be one of the most exciting and practical tech sessions I've experienced so far.
A Deep Dive into Modern AI Development
The workshop introduced us to emerging concepts that are reshaping how developers build software today. One of the most interesting ideas discussed was Vibe Coding — a modern approach that emphasizes rapid experimentation, creativity, and flow while working with AI tools.
We also explored Prompt Engineering, which is quickly becoming an essential skill for developers working with generative models. Learning how the structure, clarity, and context of prompts affect AI output gave me a new perspective on interacting with intelligent systems.
How Google's AI Ecosystem is Changing the Game
Another highlight was discovering how Google's AI Studio is transforming development workflows by making powerful AI capabilities more accessible and easier to integrate into projects.
We were also introduced to Vertex AI, Google Cloud's machine learning platform, and learned how it enables developers to build, deploy, and scale AI-powered applications efficiently.
Hands-On Building Experience
The most exciting part of the workshop was the practical session. Instead of just theory, we actually:
- Built websites using prompts
- Created simple applications with AI assistance
- Deployed our projects using Google Cloud
Watching ideas turn into working products within minutes felt almost surreal. It really demonstrated how Generative AI is lowering barriers to creation and accelerating development cycles.
Final Thoughts
This workshop wasn't just about learning tools — it was about understanding the future direction of technology. As hackathons become more AI-driven, having hands-on experience with platforms like Vertex AI and mastering prompt engineering can make a huge difference.
I'm grateful for the experience and excited to apply these skills in upcoming projects and hackathons. The future of development is evolving fast, and workshops like this make sure we evolve with it.
Thanks to the organizers and mentors for such an insightful and interactive session.
