Okay, I also knew he was involved with electric cars and went into space. I also knew he bought Twitter and that has led to a huge amount of controversy. And then there's his relationship with Donald Trump. I'm not getting into any of that.
There his still a whole bunch of stuff to say about Elon Musk. And here we go.
1: His salary from Tesla Motors is $1.
That place must have great benefits. Plus, he must be a great money manager. Hold on, being told he might have gotten a multi-billion-dollar bonus.
2: Musk has ten kids, though, sadly, one passed away.
I was going to give a breakdown of Elon's kids and their mothers, but the task proved more complicated than I thought, and I started developing a headache.
I will say that he has two sets of twins and a set of triplets. This guy gets a huge return on his investment in every aspect of his life.
3: Musk provided part of the inspiration for the character, Tony Hawk, aka Iron Man.
I've been approached about being a character in a movie about geriatric superheroes. My character would be similar to the Iron Man character. He would be Iron Deficiency Man.
4: Musk has greatly reduced the cost of getting to the International Space Station.
He's actually reduced that cost by 90%. That's great if you work at the International Space Station. It would be nice if Elon could do something to reduce the cost of a crosstown commute.
5: One of his sons is named Xavier, after Professor Xavier of X-men fame.
In checking, I haven't found a son, or daughter for that matter, named Wolverine. Of course, I'm not sure Elon is done reproducing.
6: Elon is one of a bunch of superrich guys who have signed, "The Giving Pledge."
Other signers include Bill Gates, Sir Richard Branson, Warren Buffett, and Mark Zuckerberg, the pledge says the signers will give most of their money to philanthropic efforts.
I am part of a group of poor writers who will accept gifts for their work, you can identify us by the link to Ko-fi at the bottom of our stories.
7: Elon Musk, party animal.
Musk paid for his college by throwing house parties. Actually, "Animal House" is a documentary of his college days. Hold on, being told that is completely bogus. Never mind.
8: His mother, Maye Musk, is a model of note.
At age 74, she was one of the oldest models ever to appear on the cover of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition.
I recently saw a picture of Elon. I believe the swimsuit model gene skipped a generation.
9: Musk once tweeted he would conditionally donate $6 billion dollars to end world hunger.
The condition was the U. N. World Food Program would have to explain how $6 billion dollars would solve the world food shortage. The head of the WFP obliged, but Musk didn't follow through.
But to his credit, Elon is fighting hunger in his own way. He looks well fed.
10: Musk is what is known as a thrillionaire.
A thrillionaire is a tech guy who makes science fiction a reality. Personally, I'm a stilloinaire. A guy who doesn't have much money and mostly sits around and doesn't do anything. Stillionaire.
11: Musk a co-founder of Paypal.
I'm not sure if he was Pay or Pal.
12: He wants to colonize Mars.
That raises the question, just who owns Mars? I know it's known as "The Red Planet," but does that mean there are already republicans there?
13: Musk has another son named X Æ A-XII.
Looks more like something you'd have on a vanity license plate than a name for your kid. Either that, or a math problem I would have no idea how to solve.
14: When he was a kid, he was so quiet, that his parents thought he might be deaf.
As it turns out, hearing wasn't an issue. He was just like Mr. Ed. He would never speak unless he had something to say.
