I'm crying. I'm terrified.

I don't know what the future holds. It's dark and grim.

It's crippling. It's demoralizing.

All hope is lost.

It's hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I'm not even sure it's there.

It feels like I'm shouting into the wind, crying wolf, wasting my time.

I'm in the worst pain of my life every time I think about it, and I'll never truly be able to resolve it.

I can only do my best.

The pain you ask? What is it that can make me feel so down?

I won't be able to reach everyone.

Most people live their lives oblivious to it

And even if they are aware of their own lives, most will never do anything about it to create the life they want to live.

The reason why there are so many people out there who don't see the point in living is because they aren't chasing the things that will provide that point to them.

It doesn't matter how much motivation I preach, the choice is up to you.

All I can do is keep writing and trying to wake people up to their own lives. That's my only power: effort.

It's bad enough that I won't be able to reach everyone. It pains me, but it's even worse than 99% of the ones I do reach won't even listen.

Most people wait until it's too late

Death is inevitable, but we walk through life as if we are immortal.

We don't realize that any choice we make is taking a step toward our future or away from it.

There's no stagnation.

Benjamin Hardy, PhD, in his book Be Your Future Self Now, explains how most of us think that our current selves will be the same as our future selves, but that couldn't be any more false.

You're not even the same as you were a month ago.

You are ever-changing, whether you are actively steering that change toward your desired future or not.

Knowing that you aren't going to be the same in the future, understand that to head toward the future you want, you must take control of your actions and live intentionally.

Don't wait until the end to wish you should've begun.

Begin now.

The 1%

I live for the 1% I can reach. I live for those few people who will take control of their lives and fight for their dreams.

If I can reach even just one person, I've done my job. That's what keeps me doing this.

I got into writing for a lot of reasons, but the main reason I write self-help is to empower people to chase their dreams.

Too many of us believe change isn't impossible, and it doesn't make any sense to me.

How many people have to change for you to accept it's possible?

I posit that half the people who don't believe in change are really just giving themselves an excuse so that they feel better in their misery.

I've been down that road. It's not fun. Don't lie to yourself.

If you want more, if you want to grow, if you want to become a different person, then do it.

Stop worrying about whether or not it'll work because that thought doesn't serve you.

Wake up to your life

I'll keep writing until you do.

That's how I'll press on. I know I can't reach everyone. I may not even reach you as you're reading these words.

I wish I could write the right words that will strike the right chords within you.

I wish those chords would resonate and awaken that beautiful and special power within you to press that button.

I will keep writing with that aim. I'll keep writing with that goal. I'll do everything I have to because I care about you that much.

I'll study the craft and get better, I'll learn new tactics and strategies, I'll learn the art of persuasion, and I'll do whatever I have to.

I'll do whatever I have to do to wake you up to the life you and I both know you want to live.

Final Thoughts: The Idea In Your Head

I know where it all leads: regret.

And regret, it's the worse feeling in the world. I don't want you to regret your life by the time you reach the end of it.

You are one moment away.

There's an idea in your head. It's a beautiful idea that you think of time and time again.

It's the idea that within you, everything will click, and you'll finally commit to changing your life.

It's the idea that one day, you will finally open that door, press that button, and enter the fulfilling unknown.

It's the idea that you'll take control of your life and actualize your dreams.

One day, you'll be able to be anything and everything you want to be. It's an idea, a moment in time, an instant, a flash — everything changes.

You think about that idea often. It brings a welcome smile to your face, a flutter in the belly, and maybe a tear to the eye.

You wish you wanted it badly enough to do it.

You know the feeling is unlike anything else in this world. It's complete fulfillment, but you also know that you fail to step into that moment time and time again.

It's as beautiful of an idea as it can be crippling because you don't truly believe you are capable of pushing the button.

You have so much holding you back from doing so, but it's only fear. Don't give it more credit than it should have. It's one thing standing in your way, and you are strong enough to run at it.

No one is saying you can eradicate the fear. You act despite it. That's true courage. That's true faith.

I'll do the best I can to move you in that direction, but it has to be you.

It has to be.
