Well, every day up to this point there was creeping in the laziness, the comfort of the sofa, the comfort of our modern life, which is so hard to resist. It all starts with one or two days off, small excuses lead to big changes. It is like changing your path or route. It is like sailing with a boat around the world, by changing only a few degrees of direction you will end up somewhere completely else than expected. This can be applied to our life and goals as well. Positive or negative.
Looking at the last months and my routines I discovered probably the most important aspect. We are taking too much upon ourselves. Instead of one goal or two, we go in with four or five things at once. As if suddenly learning five languages or five instruments at once. Not possible in all likelihood. To really follow through on something over a long period, it is important to take on less. Less is more. That's just true. Even if it's just one thing that we pursue daily, that's probably the optimal initial approach. Because we build a routine, our motivation or belief in ourselves increases the longer we stick to it. When that becomes routine, we can step up and gradually approach ourselves. Too much at once is predestined to fail. What follows is frustration, what follows is giving up.
