Though there are many horrible things in our world, there is still Love.
Though people could show me the absence of Love, there is still Love.
Though one man can be responsible for the deaths of over 6 million Jews, in the biggest atrocity known to humanity, there is still Love.
Though a mother or father can kill their own child, there is still Love.
Love conquers all things, renews all things, makes good all things.
We have to believe, we have to know this is true. Without Love, we are nothing. We must love others, see the good in them, and shine a light on the darkness in society, but all through Love.
Most importantly we must Love ourselves, not superficially but deeply. We must see in the reflection of a mirror, our deepest truth, that we are loveable, capable of giving and receiving Love. If we don't see it in ourselves, then we need to put in place those positive habits, to remind ourselves. This is vital.
We can be overcome by the sadness of the world, with the darkness that threatens to engulf us. Shield yourself with Love, with a mantra that each morning as you awake, you say "Today I am worthy of Love" and each evening you say "I can now rest in the Love". If you can't honestly acknowledge those feelings, then reach out to others.
The absence of Love in someone's life manifests itself in how they see and treat others, and how they see and treat themselves. It is a reflection of their past, still lingering in their present and threatening to rule their future. So where there is hatred, sow Love. Where there is unkindness to others, show Love. Where you see sadness, smile, show Love.
All of us can make such a positive contribution to our lives, our families, our places of work and leisure, and our societies, by smiling and showing Love.
Go easy out there and on yourselves.
