It was your smile. That warm presence of yours. It was you Who taught me what love is.
It's your waves, Your glances. Your sparkling eyes under moonlight.
It was you— Said the moon to the ocean.
Why is it that When I disappear, You become quiet?
Why is it that When I'm here, You approach and never reach?
Yet, I'm still here. You're always there. And maybe That's all love is— Your presence.
I think I knew what love was. Always did.
It wasn't your smile. Not that warm presence of yours. It wasn't you Who taught me what love is.
It wasn't your waves, Nor your glances. Not even your sparkling eyes.
You aren't in the spotlight. I am.

"Why is it that When I'm here, You approach and yet not reach?"
"I'm still here. You're always there. And maybe That's all love is— Your presence."
My words. Not yours. From the one who stayed,
the one who loved first.
Post script: These are just poems. Just emotions. And it's a shame I didn't write them from my heart. It feels numb to me. Still, I want to make it clear that love is presence. Actually, love can be different for everyone. For some people, it means you care and remember. For others, it means you need to be there for someone. It depends on the person. Just because someone forgot some memories with you, just because they were busy or just because their love doesn't match yours, doesn't mean they're cruel. It doesn't mean you have to leave them.
A glittering surface Is all you see.
I see the sky,
Vast and empty When you're not around.
You see the shells, The water and stones. You embrace the night Up alone.
I know you, You're always there.
You know me, I linger near.
Sun sees me sparkle But inside, I'm dark.
You see me sparkle Only in the dark.
So, how can I not reach for you?
Why wouldn't I step into ruins?
As long as you're shining, I'm shining too.
In the sun I bask,
People gather near me.
It's warm.
Still, I choose the night.
Tonight, tomorrow, and until you stay, I'll be here. I too shall stay. ♡
the end.
