THE POWER OF SILENCE(2): MAINTAIN YOUR MYSTERY

"In a world where everyone is overexposed the coolest thing to do is to maintain your mystery."
"Show, don't tell" is a skill used by Fiction writers, this technique is used to describe explicitly the character's action and to cut down on adverbs which according to Stephen King " The road to Hell is paved with adverbs". Over the years, fiction writers have embraced the "show don't tell" method, we may as well put on the lens of a writer and embrace this method with more emphasis on the last two words: don't tell. What does it mean to maintain your mystery?

To maintain your mystery isn't walking about with a grumpy countenance rather it's to surround yourself in an air of secrecy, that automatically makes you more interesting and attractive. In this article, I'll share with you 6 practical steps to take on your journey to being mysterious. ( please note that what you are about to read are tested and trusted strategies if you implement these 6C's it will work but while being mysterious can be captivating being constantly absented minded can be frustrating and off-putting to others, KNOW THE DIFFERENCE.)
Giving everyone in your life "Silent treatment" is not the same as MAINTAINING YOUR MYSTERY. 🤭

1. Conceal: Be mindful of your facial expression and conceal your emotions, try to keep your facial expression neutral so that people aren't sure what you're feeling or thinking. Try to stay calm, cool and collected at all times.
2. Complexity embrace: Humans are complex creatures with unique traits, embrace your uniqueness and rock your own style!
3. Confidence: Vivienne, founder of Woman Of Elegance(W.O.E.) once said "To be quietly confident, that alone is a skill you need to learn." I must say that it is true, having an air of confidence is intriguing and good for your mental health because to attain this stage you must have gotten to a realization that people's opinion doesn't define you, only two things define you: THE BIBLE AND YOU! ( this doesn't mean you shouldn't listen to people, they could have noticed character traits that are foreign to you and might like to draw your attention to it, listen to them.)
4.Choose carefully: Everyone needs a couple of people to be close to, sad truth is you can't be close friends with everyone in your life but you MUST have good relationship with everyone in your life. So choose carefully and prayerfully, your selected few friends. These are people that know the real you, you can share your desires, regrets, worries, happiness with them. When outsiders realize that you only open up to a select few, they will wonder about the real you and wish they could be one of the special people you confide in.
5. Concentration: The power of silence is limitless, as it provides room for you to focus on YOU, on your hobbies, life goals, career, academics and relationships. It allows you to develop because your life isn't crowded with people or superficiality, there's higher probability for productivity. Working on your hobbies, honing your skills can help you acquire a sense of pride & purpose. ( trust me, I know)
6. Change: You need to make some life style changes, you have to be as private as possible. Watch what you post in social media, Don't post what you're really excited or upset about, Think thrice before posting, Stay on a low key on social media and from time to time you can post just an occasional photo with a brief caption.
I understand the if you are a loquacious or dramatic person. Keep that part of you to the ones that are close to you and if you are a content creator or you work using social media platforms, then work and KEEP PRIVATE THINGS, PRIVATE.
Everything of value is hidden, even God doesn't reveal himself to us at once. We get saved, we start a relationship with him and daily we experience dimensions of him that we've never seen before. Like a beautifully wrapped present, God unfolds himself to us as we grow deeper in the knowledge of him. lf God can surround himself with mysteries, How much more you?
