About me.
A little about me here may have you nugged. Last updated on 25. Jan 2021.
Did you see that facial expression? Good observation.
Before you read anything else here, hold on- Spoilers ahead. Let me ask you to do me a favour. You must be 18 and over to know about me. And, here is what I need you to do. Try to analyze if what I've written in the first sentences below relates to my facial appearance. I really don't know except, I got a moderately bigger nose. đ Woosh! I wish it was long enough.
Jeof Ogire, is a Filmmaker and, Screenwriter and Director.. His original names are Geofrey Ogire and he lives in Ugandaâ- "The Pearl of Africa."
You can connect with him on LinkedIn on a special note.
Alright, welcome back from that quick analysis. You know, It was noon when I wrote this story. My location that day was in a Coffee shop inside Uganda's Capital- Kampala. While I was scrolling through a few things on social media, I got interrupted a little because an idea popped up in my mind. So, I was supposed to swiftly check something via a V.O.D streaming service. I'm speaking about YouTube. Yes. So, as I flipped through YouTube pages, there came a video explaining about a woman in USA who went to a husband shop to purchase one for herself. Then I asked myselfââ "âIs it feasible to buy a husband for oneself?" Where on earth are men sold as husbands? I could be a product in the market there. "That was such a hilarious joke someone once made." I said to myself but that story wasn't fun. It was explaining a real situation.
Uhm! right after, I had to settle and bring my mind to focus on this story. I found myself asking "How do I want people to know me? It felt like nice treat because at that point in time, we were in a personal meeting (Myself and I). We were able to jot down a few things to say but time was getting out of control. I stopped the minute hand. This is the start of my story.
I was born at a time when my Father and Mother were mates. Meanwhile, I was their true go-between. It was soothing living a new life in a new world. Back then, i barely knew anything but I think at first, there was joy in the family. But that didn't last. I think I was brought into this world with good hope but the timing was so wrong.
There was a serious famine in my country. Insurgency was at its climax. And I lived no knowing my parents for a long time, I was first raised by a grandmother. I should have waited. Nevertheless, here I am today. I am one of the survivors because few years later, my parents gave me a first siblingâ a sister. That was when I traveled with one of my Uncles to see my parents. Few years later, my parents gave us another sibling.
The position of "firstborn" is a tough one but guess what, It makes you stronger, energetic, more creative, and innovative. That being said, at least I'm capable of bringing food on the table and a roof over our heads.
I like to hard work because mother nature's destiny is not fair to the lazy one. My work experience dates back to the 19th century when burnt my parents grass thatched kitchen. It happened when I made an attempt to burn one piece of grass. It became an experiment and I took note of the findings. My father, on returning from the garden kicked me in the butt. That's was the best way to calm himself.
I'm a staunch Christian because my family is. I'm a believer who takes pride in the life I live. Oh, Lord add me more years of life. This so seriously. Some people do not value life.
They value funny stuff like liqueur, money, luxury, food, and many more. That reminds me of a guy I once helped who involved himself in an accident right in front of me.
When I stepped forward to help, instead of crying about his broken leg, he cried because the motorbike was in terrible shape. I felt apathetic enough for him actually it is his leg which was in amorphous shape. Who on earth would value a motorbike more than his/her life? I think he must have had an illusion on waking up from the accident.
When I was a kid I used to think that my parents used to tell me I would be a doctor but it seems they did not know what the future held for me. By the time I was 10, my dreams were no longer my parents'. There was a mind shift from doctoring to engineering. I had four ambitions in that category though none of them was embraced. I became a teacher instead and now, have skilled myself in writing and Filmmaking. I stick to everything I do and handle it with passion. I am a writer because it's a career that has enabled me to earn a living online.
I am an introvert. I often say few lines but do much more. I would rather write it down and there my words come in thousands. Therefore, I prefer spending more time alone doing what interests me. That solitary attitude is what gives me time to write more.
Peers are not very necessary in my life. people with like minds or similar interests can easily get closer to me. Woaaa!.âŠI'm just kidding. I am usually social but it always depends on my moods.
Sometimes, my phone and laptop are my two best friends.
Finding myself smiling isn't a rare case, I love to see myself happy at least every day. That's me.đ€«
