I recognised the image at the top of this story immediately. Back in 2012, I spent an hour or so in Daunt books. I could have easily spent more time (and money). A wonderful place to sit, read and discover new books. I sat in the downstairs section with a half-metre pile of books in front of me, as I read Quiet by Susan Cain. The store workers didn't hassle me once as I treated their store like my own lounge room. Reading a book is a much more pleasurable tactile experience than an e-book, whatever the device. I can still remember the feel of the soft, matte finish of the dust jacket of quiet, as I slumped in the comfortable leather armchair.
