Using art to showcase humanity's ugliness.
A few years ago, while on a visit to the Como Zoo in St. Paul, Minnesota, we noticed new art sculptures glistening in the sunshine. Bright art sculptures from the distance.
It was a different story as we got closer.
The sculpture above, named "Priscilla, was sixteen feet long, created by the trash collected from our ocean's beaches. My kids and I stood looking in amazement at the trash that people have the gull to leave behind and the stunning artwork created as a result.
Sadness wrapped in art.
Thousands of volunteers with the Washed Ashore environmental education projects created this traveling art sculpture exhibit. I'm thinking I may volunteer for a future project. Is anyone with me?
