It's hard to get subscribers to your newsletter.

More and more people are becoming more sceptical about sharing their emails, and many are losing their trust due to the rise of fake accounts and AI.

You've been trying for several weeks, months, even years to bring in new subscribers,

But nothing seems to be working.

I want to show you how you can realistically grow your newsletter to 1000s of subscribers.

Let's dive in.

How to #1: Create a free email course

The easiest way to bring subscribers is to create a free email course.

After every blog post, add a link to it.

People love free stuff, so create one and collect their emails.

"I'll do anything for free stuff." — Sandra Bullock

I have a free email course and because of this, I've seen a growth in my newsletter subscribers.

How I do it:

  • I created my email course on Gumroad because it's free.
  • And I link it to my social media profile and at the end of all my blog posts.
  • When someone clicks on the link, it takes them to Gumroad, where they get the course, and I get their emails.

How to #2: Engage with your subscribers

When you genuinely engage with your subscribers and reply to them, they'll recommend you.

Like they say, there is no better marketing than word of mouth.

So, treat your subscribers like royalty and give them value, and they'll recommend their friends and family to subscribe to you.

"Word of mouth is probably the best and cheapest form of advertising. Learn to use it to your advantage." — Richard Branson

2 other newsletters on Substack have recommended my newsletter, which has substantially increased my subscribers.

How I do it:

  • I always reply to the emails of my subscribers.
  • I make delivering value to my subscribers a priority.
  • And I always ask for their feedback and what they want me to create.

How to #3: Solve their pain points.

In all your blog posts, solve the pain points of your ideal audience.

Give them valuable content, and show them how you can help them more if they subscribe to your newsletter.

And even with each newsletter article, solve a specific pain point of your subscribers.

"To have an impact on your audience, you must understand their pain points."— Neil Patel

I've received many subscribers because I keep my content relevant and valuable to my audience.

How I do it:

  • I tackle the pain points of my ideal audience in my blog posts.
  • I also tackle the pain points of my subscribers.
  • I use my profile and the end of each blog post to explain how I can help my followers further if they subscribe to my newsletter.

How to *realistic* grow your newsletter to 1000s of subscribers:

  • Create a free email course and link it to your social media profiles at the end of every blog post.
  • Give your subscribers value and engage with them.
  • Solve the pain points of my audience.
