Ok, genuine conversation. I mean, there have always been people throughout history who are genuinely asexual, not interested in romantic partnerships or sex, and who it makes sense not to have to invest in the next generation of people. The issue today is that far too many are making that decision not because of reasonable reasons, but because of selfish reasons. But this idea of "intense pressure and socialization" is so weird. It's like talking about the "intense pressure and socialization to drink water and eat food". Like, you do know that we will all die horrible deaths if we do not have a replacement generation right? Are we not all on the same page about that? Do we think everyone just doing whatever they feel like doing is what makes society work?

Genuinely, genuinely, the west has gotten soooo weird. Do you all really think that everything in your life that has allowed you to grow up and even have the time to have these kinds of feelings rather than be struggling to find food and water daily is because everyone does what they FEEL like doing??? That's why it comes across as narcissistic. Do you think if we normalize people just deciding not to have kids and not giving them a hard time about it that you'll just magically have enough doctors, nurses, health aids, engineers, rad techs, health unit coordinators, cafeteria staff, hospitality staff, etc alive to take care of you when you're 65 and have a health crisis? I truly truly do not understand. TRULY. Help me understand because I do not.
