Currently humanity is facing many existential threats — nuclear war, climate change, and biodiversity loss, the most immediate of which is nuclear war. Right now, the most dangerous and immediate, is nuclear war. Don't even kid yourself that it won't happen.

Putin famously thought when he invaded Ukraine that the war would be over in two or three days. He miscalculated.

At the time, Chomsky said that the USA, and the west, had to stay out of it, and I concurred. It would start WWIII. And while I am no fan of Donald Trump, he also sees it.

There are many reasons that Putin would want Ukraine, not the least of which was that Ukraine was the fighting arm of the Russian Empire for 300 years. In addition, Russia's population is thinning, and it needs more people. Ukraine also has rare minerals necessary for long-life batteries, or so it is rumoured. Then there is the possibility that Putin wishes to restore the Russian Empire with him as Tzar. I kid you not — some years ago he moved into the old Russian palace where the Tzar used to live.

With all of that, to some extent, the reasons are irrelevant. The point is that Putin wants Ukraine, and he is determined to get it. American intelligence sent envoys to warn Russia and Ukraine before Putin's murderous invasion, but Putin denied he was going to invade and Zelensky didn't believe the USA.

Since that time, Russia has signed military agreements with North Korea, India, China, and Iran. According to British Intelligence (and, if I remember correctly, American Intelligence concurs), China is now both militarily superior to America in terms of advanced weaponry, and is silently supplying Russia which has depleted its armoury. The only other country that has advanced weaponry (and the intellect to go with it) is Israel.

Zelensky

There has been a principle, since time immortal, that one man lay down his life for another. It is the principle on which armies are built. Some men die so that other men might live. In this case, the pawns are bigger. There is another principle — that one country lay down its life that the others might live.

That is where Chomsky was coming from. He saw the outcome of this war, and so did I. I'm going to stick with that.

Here's the bottom line. The west, with all of America's weaponry, is not likely to win a war against a combined China, Russia, North Korea, and India. The Pentagon announced some time ago that, in a war against China, America is unlikely to win.

The situation in America and the west

There is a cycle that plays out. A nation, through diligence over the centuries, builds up its civilization and becomes strong and innovative. Its people become prosperous, and with that prosperity comes a carelessness. From that carelessness comes many other things — depravity, arrogance, and entitlement.

This last is where America and the west are.

America is in ruins. Its infrastructure is falling apart, and a solid infrastructure is an essential in times of war. Its people must be ready. Its roads, water supplies, food supplies, manufacturers must be top notch. Its self-sufficiency must be ensured. Its people must be well educated, physically and mentally healthy, and, of course, must be willing to sacrifice for the greater good (survival and well being) of all.

I think it can safely be assumed that while Israel meets these criteria, America doesn't, and it hasn't for a long while. No other countries in the west do either.

Trump

Donald Trump is an arsehole. He is crude, vulgar, dishonest, narcissistic, and a lot of other things. He is also right that the war between Ukraine and Russia needs to stop, and that as Putin won't stop until Zelensky concedes some land, that is the only remaining option.

Complexities

Ukraine is not a country of one creed. There are people there who only speak Russian. There are people there who side with Russia. If you remember, early on in the war, Zelensky arrested some people who provided information to the Russian forces. We can argue all we like as to whether they were patriots or not, but the country has a long association with Russia, and there are parts of it where people might well decide they would prefer to be part of Russia. We don't know for certain.

If Putin does walk away with a certain amount of land from Ukraine, does that not give him the confidence to invade other lands surrounding Russia?

Yes, indeed, it does.

Here's the thing.

What Biden and the west should have done when Putin decided to savage Ukraine was to move NATO forces to those countries which bordered Russia and were members of NATO. This would have included Poland, Lithuania, Finland, Estonia, and Latvia. That way, there would have been a strong deterrent against future invasion of NATO countries.

The name of the game is strategy — not heroics!

The Trump Zelensky conflagration in the White House

Trump has spoken to Putin. Putin won't budge. Trump is speaking to Zelensky. Zelensky won't give up the rights to the rare earth fields in Ukraine as payment to the USA for military weapons, and he won't give up land to Russia.

Zelensky depends on the generosity of America and the west to stop Russian invasion, and he is willing to spend Ukrainian lives. Ukraine, on its own, does not stand a chance in hell of winning that war.

The media showed only the end of the conflagration at the White House between Trump and Zelensky. If, according to media, you watch the entire clip, of what led to the conflagration, then the outcome is understandable. Of course, it is no way justifies Trump pushing Zelensky. The man, holding the most powerful position in the world, should have more self control than that, but what can one say? The man is bereft of finesse.

My conclusion in all of this (and time limits mean I've left out some) is that America and the west needs to accept the fact that Ukraine needs to concede land to Russia, and then the west needs to up its game and fuck all the civil rights bullshit about trans, equity, and other social engineering, and get back to reality.

The reality is this:

  • China, India, Russia, and North Korea have an agreement to unite militarily if NATO goes to war against Russia in order to assist Ukraine. There is no guarantee that NATO will win.
  • Putin has no qualms about dropping nuclear devices, and the country has small nuclear weaponry that explode in the sky which will act as EMP bombs, and these will kill off every computer system, every car, anything that uses chips. It will leave any city and country in a useless position, and I'm putting it mildly.

  • The cyber propaganda that has been used against America (and the west) during the past twenty years has ensured a divided country, one where nearly 60% of liberal women under 40 are mentally ill as a result of a combination of factors (none of which they are responsible for). The result is a lot of very confused people who support powers against the very civilization that has given them the rights and opportunities they have. A nation of people like this is in no way ready to fight a war against nations who have been preparing for it for the past twenty years.

Ukraine has to concede, and the war must stop.

A personal message to my readers

There are those who have been following me across many platforms for about fifteen years. You know that when I write something like this, I usually have many references to back up what I am saying.

At this point, earning pennies for each article, and in my mid-70s now, I cannot continue to put in the time to source those references for you. You are welcome to google them and find them yourself. I'll even include them here if you provide them for me.

I wish you a long and prosperous life.
