This blog is a reflection of what Solomon achieved over seven years in the tech industry and a roadmap for anyone navigating a similar path.
Solomon started his IT journey in 2022, entering the world of tech with zero experience and high aspirations. Like many beginners, he initially chased multiple programs promising quick job placements, moving from one bootcamp to another. Early missteps taught him the importance of research, planning, and deliberate action.
By 2024, he had built a structured roadmap for his career in CloudOps and DevOps. He earned the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (CCP) and AWS Solutions Architect Associate (SAA) certifications, completing the Pravin Mishra DevOps Micro-Internship along the way. He contributed to open-source projects, published cloud computing tutorials on LinkedIn, and built a GitHub portfolio showcasing real-world infrastructure projects, automated deployments, and CI/CD pipelines.

Solomon also committed to community impact. He mentored dozens of learners in the ALX Cloud Computing Program, helping them pass certifications, build projects, and navigate the tech job market. His guidance contributed directly to the career success of peers and strengthened the local tech ecosystem.
By 2026, Solomon had secured a position as a DevOps Engineer, leading projects in cloud infrastructure automation, monitoring, and deployment pipelines. He built scalable solutions using Terraform, Ansible, Docker, and AWS, while documenting and sharing his work publicly to inspire others.
Solomon's journey demonstrates that coming from a non-tech background is not a barrier. Through deliberate practice, networking, mentorship, and consistent execution, he transformed challenges into measurable outcomes, proving that growth is possible with focused effort and resilience.
