That's exactly why I started a quotes page on IG.
Why Quotes? Because they're easy. People love sharing them, saving them, tagging friends — so they naturally grow. And best of all? They're easy to monetize!
Here's what I do:
I design simple text quotes and upload them to Society6, where they get printed on mugs, stickers, phone cases, and a bunch of other products.
Society6 handles everything — shipping, complaints, and even refunds. I just upload a design, and every time someone buys a product with my quote on it, I get a 20% cut.
So if a mug sells for $16, I make $1.60.
Here's what my sales looked like last year:
- Worst month: Around $190.
- Best month: over $700.
That's with around 75,000ish followers.
How do I get people from Instagram to click on my store and buy?
This is what I do:
- My bio has a clear CTA. It says: "Shop the quote mug collection ↓" And it links straight to my Society6 store.
- I post one quote per day. I use a Canva template I made — just swap the text and download the new version. I can queue up a week of content in under 15 minutes.
- I use stories. Once a week, I post a product image — like a quote on a mug — with a swipe-up link. I don't do it too often because I don't want to mess up my engagement.
Other than that, I just stay consistent and keep growing. The shares and tags bring in new followers, the followers check out the bio, and some of them turn into buyers.
You don't need any upfront money to try this. Canva is free. Instagram is free. Society6 is free to upload your designs. You just need a little bit of time and consistency.
