Hello!
I have created a new publication — Zen & Soul for those passionate about interior design and a holistic lifestyle.
Holistic Interior Design is a recent addition and discovery in Interior design world. It may still be somewhat unknown for many, but I believe it will gain more popularity and we will see a steady rise in this area.
We can see it in the way companies are more conscious with carbon foot print, with a rise in natural alternatives in our homes. Construction of new builds and major renovations are choosing materials that make them more sustainable and energy efficient for the long term. DIY users are more aware now of the fabric used in upholstery, paints they choose to have in their homes and furniture they want to surround themselves with.
Those who live a holistic lifestyle and/or are spiritual in nature, blend these together to become Holistic Designers. Interior Designers have been around for many years, they create the space for where we live or work, eat or sleep…among others.
What is a Holistic Approach to Interior Design?
This viewpoint is about nourishing ourselves with a harmonious frequency of energy. This is so we use our space to its fullest potential while also serving a purpose in maintaining balance in our body.
Our environments feed the mind, body, soul, and spirit that goes beyond the physical and the mental, it reaches our etheric and our spiritual selves. A more subconscious vibration that emits from our cellular structure. How our energy reacts to what is around us can be peace and calm or the opposite unsettled, angry, and irritated.
This can be expressed by colour therapy. A colour on the wall that sparks anger or restlessness in a bedroom. Walls with sharp angles don't allow the energy to flow by getting stuck when Feng Shui may not have been implemented in the design process.
Holistic Interior Design is waking the soul to start consciously choosing modalities, therapies, tools, and mythologies. Develop an awareness of emotions and how they play on the environment.
A holistic theme will be just as prominent in Zen & Soul as in Design in general. I have been writing about alternative and holistic therapies and modalities for some time, this publication allows me to bring them together in the same space.
Topics for Publication
I welcome all topics related to Interior Design, Decorating, and Architecture. As well as stories about design styling/tips, colour schemes, furnishings, and even your home renovation process, especially if it links to the emotions experienced during your journey.
If you are a design connoisseur or a home renovator, you have your own design business. Health & Wellness stories that relate to environments or designs. If you are a lover of design and your Pinterest is full of tips and useful advice that you feel you want to share, then I welcome you to write stories and publish them in Zen & Soul.
The publication will be split in two — Holistic Interior design and Interior design with the hope that our readers will begin to see the link between holistic and design and that they really can be one and the same.
How it evolves depends on the type of stories submitted. I will monitor the energy in the direction it takes and go with the flow of it without too many restrictions.
Zen & Soul is the dining table where we come together and share our thoughts and ideas with others to educate and inspire.
