Expecting an event to happen will cause the same physical and mental effects as if the event had happened. But how is this possible? I support this idea, but it's just hard to wrap one's mind around the concept and its implications. Thinking through the lens of a business student, I could see its application in many domains.
Does this mean that our beliefs alone are equally or more important than any environment, object, or activity in determining outcomes? It seems surreal, as you'd imagine a lucid dream being the more suitable context for your wishes to command the outcome. Maybe our cultural conditioning reinforces that if something seems too good to be true, it probably is. On the other hand, the best things in life tend to come free or simply to us. It is possible that our intuition is misguiding us to a routine of constant misfired attempts to do the right thing, and what we think is best for ourselves. We can construct desired outcomes in our heads and this will impact its translation into real events.
I believe there is something unique about those who reap success. They have a magnetic force that attracts opportunity, clarity, and execution. There must be at least one constant that remains across each individual. The answer I had in mind is not luck, although maybe luck will be proven to be replicable in future times, and I'm not underplaying the role that luck plays in our success. I'm talking about an unrelenting mindset. The sheer will to accomplish something may be the ignition, fuel, and engine that powers the vehicle to success, however you may define it.
