Today was a mediocre day, sometimes when you just don't have it to give your best how much ever you try.
But something very tiny but significant happened. Every night after dinner I try to go for a brisk walk in the common area of my apartment near the children's playground.
While I had my headphones on with Sufi music playing in the background, there were a lot of babies in their strollers who had come down with their parents.
It was such a pleasure to see the little ones go around on their rides, some of them chasing their siblings and some sleeping while their parents carried them on their shoulders.
I can't explain the feeling, it was wholesome to see the babies and their shenanigans.
It magnificently elevated my mood and the end of the day was cute.
Kids radiate joy wherever they go, why can't we adults do the same? Have you ever wondered?
Here's the questionnaire for the day —
- How did I start my day?
- What did I eat?
- What did I accomplish?
- Where did I mess up?
- How did I end my day?
How did I start my day?
Woke up at 7:00 a.m. today, been waking up post 6 for the last few days, not very proud of it. Guess that's what the body needs right now, some rest amidst the chaos.
Sipped on some water and just stayed in the bed for thirty minutes after waking.
Took a cold shower and put on a comfy attire.
Headed to my meditation session that lasted for 45 minutes, my trainer thinks I need to be independent now and devote more time towards self-practice.
So the weekly frequency with the trainer will reduce, yet to figure out a plan.
Came back and started working from home at 10:00 a.m.
What did I eat?
Breakfast — Ragi idlis with coconut chutney, two baby bananas, and a handful of blanched almonds and walnuts.
Breakfast Time — 9:30 a.m.
Lunch — Spinach and cottage cheese curry with chapatis.
Lunch Time — 1:30 p.m.
Dinner — Ladyfinger fry with parathas.
Dinner Time — 6:30 p.m.
What did I accomplish?
Two hours of uninterrupted writing with an hour of daily blog series and an hour of client work.
Completed 60 % of the office To-Do list.
Where did I mess up?
Got stuck in endless loops of doomscrolling and procrastination.
Tried to push myself in denial because of the massive shift my life would experience in the next few months, resisted the feelings instead of accepting them as is.
How did I end my day?
Went for a brisk walk post dinner, came up brushed my teeth, followed by a 10-minute skincare session.
Spoke to parents and sister over a video call.
Read myself to sleep.
