The Internet's Dark Veil
In the dim glow of screens law fades into obscurity anonymity takes the throne Eminent authors craft praise for their own work & daggers for rivals behind cloaked masks Teenagers sharpen their words into weapons while adults hide behind digital veils as spewing venom. The mask is both a shield and a sword concealing the face but baring the soul
Masks reveal our hidden selves freeing feral spirits and notorious desires Anonymity strips us bare exposing the primal within Disinhibited revealed truth emerges — showing we're all performers Swayed by the allure of screens puppets on invisible strings
Behind the mask the internet breathes — an entity of its own making Feeding on our darkest impulses No longer bound by societal norms we wear masks that transform Our humanity dissipates replaced by avatars of chaos and disdain
Butttt……
The masks protect yet they imprison forging a new identity One that thrives on disinhibition revels in the perverse As we sojourn through this virtual masquerade we forget the fragility of the real Leaving behind the essence of our true selves masked and obscured
