It comes down to one simple thing: How bad do you want it?
You know how resolutions often go: you set a goal and start strong… then the motivation runs out and feelings of frustration and shame creep in. The struggle is real — but what if it doesn't have to be?
Being Healthy and Fit is one is the most important goals we all have every year. Want to eat right, be more active in doing the workout.
But some way down the line we lost the motivation or some times life happens and we are all caught up with life hustles. You are not alone in this hustle, I have been there. Where I felt demotivated, less of interest, and simply just don't want to work out.
If you struggle to lace up your shoes but want to work on your fitness and overall physical and mental health, you are at the right place. There is an old saying "health is wealth" and it's never become so important as last year.
There are a few simple ways to shift your mindset and keep you on track to achieving your grandest ambitions.
I am going to give you some super-easy solutions to defeat the wrongs and help you to become a better version of yourself.
Exercise not only changes your body. It changes your mind, your attitude and your mood.
Identify your why
First, let's figure out — why you want to work on your fitness. Maybe it's weight loss, weight gain, want to become more active, or trying to fit in your favorite jeans or dress you brought ages ago but now couldn't get in.
If you got up this morning and thought about working out, then said not today? why is that?
Find your motivation
All of us struggle with motivation but the key is DON'T wait for the motivation. It's discipline and consistency that bring motivation.
Once you have the reason to look forward to, you can start working on the next steps. What is holding you back from working out?
Focus on progress not perfection
Sometimes when we start working, we might not see the results, or the results are a little slower than you anticipated. I know it gets a little disheartening when you put a lot of effort and it's not resulting in visible difference.
First, you need to understand, fitness is not only restricted physically. It involves mental and emotional well-being as well. See if being active, you feel more energetic or happy or more of yourself.
Listen to your body and I am sure, even if you are not seeing physical differences there must be some little tiny changes in your headspace and mental health. It can help you to put more effort into your fitness.
Start with simple exercises
This one is difficult when you start your fitness journey. Some people wait for Monday, or a new month or even a new year. Frankly, there is no particular day you should start or wait for that day.
The good day is today and even if you do not know what to do, at least start with a slow walk around your neighborhood, or make use of the treadmill, bicycle, or even Yoga, anything that is you have available to you.
The only goal and objective you should have been to move your body for 30 minutes. If you are new to a fitness routine, start with slow exercises, you don't want to injure yourself.
Set a time
This feels familiar when we are managing work, family, kids, parents, and whatnot and 24 hours seems like a minute. Family responsibilities taking all the time.
If you want to be regular at the gym or in your fitness routine, you need to add a workout in your daily tasks as well so that you can prioritize as well. Who doesn't love having a glass of wine and lying in a cozy blanket after a hectic day? I certainly do.
If you are short on time, try HIIT( High Intensity Interval Training ) or no equipment cardio workouts or simple things like taking a staircase or walk if necessary or just do skipping.
You don't need to spend hours in the gym doing your workouts. 15–20 minutes are enough to get started.
Don't let failure define you
Since we were kids, our parents, society taught us to be successful and share everything about how to be a successful person in your career, at home anywhere in life.
But we hardly get anything on how to face failure and overcome failures. It's life and trusts me it's not fair and everyone has setbacks. But we learn from them and overcome failures.
If you are in a situation, where you think you might not be successful in your fitness journey, It's not right. Without trying you wouldn't not be knowing the outcome. So why not just give it a try and see how it's going for you.
Everything can't be defined by success or failure. Who knows if you become the next fitness trainer or a health coach or a nutritionist. I know few people, they started their fitness journey just like us and now have a full-time successful career as a fitness trainer. Isn't it awesome?
In the end, I just want to say, everyone's journey is different and I can say many other things, But it's your health and body, and you should take care of it as best you can.
There are no wrong answers, you just need to try and find what is going to work for you. May it's yoga, running or walk or strength training, anything.
Today take a pledge, despite everything, you can going to make your physical and mental health a priority.
It is possible to make fitness the focus of your life and you are going to have enough time to dedicate yourself. If you want to become the best version of yourself, time is Now and You can do it!
