Surrounded by Darkness
Darkness around me. I hide in the darkness. I hide from the world. This is my happy place. A small sliver of light comes through. I let it fall across my face. I let it warm my face for a moment and back, back out of the light. Always writing at night. A midnight writer. Writing comes easier when the world is silent. My brain relaxes, and I am calm. The photo above is my office. It's been redone since this phone photo was taken, but it always has one lamp and a little light. When do you do your writing? As I get older, sleeping is rough, and I get up and write. Sometimes I mentally dump all the worries of the world, sometimes it is a short story, other times it is a poem. I print most of my writings and put them in binders. When I am gone, I do not want people having to find things on my computer; I want it right where they can put a hand on it easily. I pray they treasure my work and remember how much I loved them and writing. Today is another.
May my words be of benefit to the world. Pray you are well, xoxoxo, Debbie
