Today's random word is "contemplative." The protagonist stands at a crossroads.

A drabble is a fictional story containing exactly 100 words, and a double drabble is 200 words: No more and no less.

Baby Joseph crawled to a crossroads. The left sign said "Homeschooling," and the right said "Public school."

His parents' friendly voice echoed against the blue sky, "Baby, go left."

Baby Joseph cooed and crawled towards the left junction.

Joseph became a toddler and reached another crossroads. The left sign said "Violin," and the right said "Fencing."

The amiable voice appeared in the sky, "Honey. Go right."

Joseph followed suit.

Joseph grew taller as a teenager and came to another crossroads. The left sign said "Science," and the right said, "Non-science."

His parents' sound burst out from the cloud, "Go left."

Joseph muttered, "But I love philosophy."

His dad's voice became strict, "It's for your prospect."

Joseph turned left and strolled.

Reaching another crossroads, his parents said, "Go left, Jo."

Joseph stared at the right sign, "Psychology," contemplative.

Finally, he rushed to the left sign, "Computer Science."

He dragged his body along the road, smooth and without storms.

At the last junction, Old Joseph looks up at the signs. The left says "Hell," and the right says "Heaven."

There are no more voices from the sky.

Joseph turns left, mumbling, "My life's boring. Now I can finally have some fun!"
