I had to read this comment twice before I could decide if it was real. It's a sad and small person who can take in this sort of personal story and vomit back out this kind of thoughtless remark. I'm assuming Mr. Witzeling would not have the same view on someone who had to resort to desperate measures to pay for treatment for a physical condition they lacked money to remedy. It makes me ill to see how casually some people encourage individuals battling depression or other MEDICAL CONDITIONS to "shake it off," or "snap out of it," or whatever pandering remarks they regurgitate from other uneducated and compassion-lacking sources.

Show me someone who brushes off mental illness, and I'll show you someone who lacks the basic ability to connect with and care for their fellow human beings.

The woman who wrote this article? She is a warrior brave enough to share her battle with the rest of us.

The man who left this comment? I genuinely feel sorry for him. What a small and simple mind you seem to be stuck with. Here's hoping you find the means to treat that unfortunate condition.
