I know I can't be alone here… I love the smell of disgusting things. Cover your eyes and noses if you're squeamish with bad smells.

It was a few years ago when I discovered I had a penchant for bad smells. Carl and I were laying in bed cuddling our lab, Phoenix, when Carl said 'Ugh, Phoe, your feet stink.'

'Nooo.' I gently picked up her paw and kissed it. 'Don't you love the smell of her feet?'

Carl was disgusted with me. Her feet smelled of musty popcorn. I'm told most dogs' feet smell like this — if you get close enough for a good whiff.

Since then I've found I also really like the smell of my own farts. It's probably quite disgusting to most people but I think I'm fascinated with bodily smells.

I also like smelling Caelin's poo. What's even more fascinating is examining its contents when I empty a poopy nappy into the toilet. We use cloth nappies and poo is easier to remove when it's fresh… Don't you just love the smell of fresh poo?

Fresh poo is the best kind. I hate stale, cold poo. In my eight years of working with dogs, I've picked up my fair share of dog shit. Let me just be clear here, I've never liked the smell of other dogs' shit. I've tolerated it, I could easily stomach it but I preferred picking up the hot ones. I would gag and retch and my eyes would water when I had to pick up a cold one. Usually because, if it was cold, I'd know it wasn't from any of my dogs.

Phoenix's poo on the other hand is quite nice. It always has a mild sweet smell to it — just when you thought I couldn't get any more disgusting… But really, her poo smells like summer fruits. Her diet is probably better than most humans.

I also love the smell of morning breath. Not mine, and not Carl's but Caelin's. It always smells milky and warm, even if it is a touch garlicky from the previous night's spaghetti bolognese.

So, I think it's official— I am probably quite strange, but we all have our own little quirks, right? Mine just so happens to be that I like the smell of my own farts, my dog's feet, my children's poo and morning breath.

Please don't unfollow me just because I'm disgusting.

But seriously, I can't be the only one… Do you like some smells others might find disgusting?
