5 Years ago, I started having severe stomach problems. Every morning I would wake up and feel bloated, heavy, and unable to move very well. I was constipated for months on end, feeling like the food I ate 3 months ago was still there chilling in my stomach.
For a while I just let it be, but after 2 weeks of constant pain, I said it was enough. I went to the doctor to get it fixed.
She checked everything, but had no idea what it was. She said I was totally healthy, but the stomach pain could be caused by mental issues. I should go see a therapist.
So I did.
But after 6 months of therapy, nothing really changed.
While I did feel better mentally, my stomach pain was still just as bad as it once was.
Soon afterwards, in early 2020, I started going to the gym and eating healthier. But it did not help. And the fact that THAT did not help, made me give up on it. I forgot about it and just accepted it as my new norm.
"I have stomach pain in the morning, that´s just how it is. There´s nothing I can do about it."
Over the next few years there were times, where I tried to fix it again. But nothing worked.
In December 2023 I went to the gym and started warming up for my workout. I was feeling pretty good, did one set of 8 pull-ups, when suddenly, I felt myself getting dizzy.
I sat down for a few minutes, but it did not get better. I was about to pass out completely, when I got the idea that I should call someone for help. With the last bit of consciousness I had left, I was able to tell someone to get help.
A trainer came, they gave me sugar and I was good again. But I had to stop my workout and didn´t go to the gym for the next two weeks.
This was my wake-up-call. I was not going to live like this for the rest of my life.
So I started my research again.
I saw a Video where someone said fasting should help with my digestion. I tried it out and after 2 days of not eating anything… I did not feel any different.
Then I found Mike Chang, a Youtuber, who you may know from his old channel "Sixpackshortcuts", who has now embraced spirituality and practicing ways of healing the body.
I tried his workouts and practices, because I was thinking, I may have some emotional baggage that I am holding on to, and I may be able to release that and get rid of my stomach issues.
Spoiler: I was wrong.
His practices helped me in other ways, but not my digestion.
After that, I found out about Paul Saladino. Finally I had found someone who has gone through the exact same things as me.
He also had asthma. He also had digestive issues. He also had weird allergies.
And he found a diet, which helped him get rid of every single one of those issues.
He calls it the "Animal-Based Diet", in which he only eats Meat, fruit, raw dairy and raw honey.
I thought about trying it for a long time and in march of this year, I finally got the courage to tell my parents about the new lifestyle change I want to make.
„I will now, for one month, only eat meat, fruit, raw dairy and raw honey."
Over the next few days, my digestion got better and better. But then it stopped getting better.
Then it started again. Then it stopped. While I was feeling great in the first week, my pain immediately came back and in the end…nothing had really changed.
And so I again got to the point where I said "How the hell am I going to fix this?"
And that was when I heard about the fermented plum, which was apparently there to help digest and get rid of all the bullshit that is in your stomach.
I tried it, got rid of a LOT of bullshit…
But my digestion?
It did not get better.
And again, I was at the same point as I was in the beginning of the year (By this point it was June).
Because the "wake-up call" in December of last year was not enough for me, I now got another one.
Out of nowhere, I became completely sick for 3 weeks.
I was coughing, sneezing, having stronger stomach problems than ever before, not being able to breathe, constantly having a stuffy nose, headaches and throat pain. I was basically unable to do anything. Sitting was uncomfortable, standing was uncomfortable, laying down was uncomfortable.
And for you this might sound horrible. And it was.
But in retrospect, I also see this as a sign.
The Universe (or God, or whatever you want to call the higher power) was pointing me towards one thing:
My asthma and my digestion both got a lot worse at the exact same time.
Maybe there is a correlation between the two.
So I started digging… And I found something very interesting, which I will show you in my next post. Stick around for that if you are interested :)
