The psychology of investing is just as critical as the strategies we deploy. This week has been a true test of discipline and resilience, with many of my cash-secured puts being pushed to their limits. It's a reminder that markets don't move in straight lines, and even well-structured trades can feel the weight of volatility.
Tomorrow brings key economic data that could add further downside pressure, and the question on every trader's mind is whether we'll see the seasonal "Santa rally" or if the market will continue to grind lower. The uncertainty forces tough decisions: do I adjust positions, roll contracts, or simply hold steady and trust the probabilities I've built into my strategy? My recurring data center positions have taken a beating over the past few weeks, testing both my patience and conviction. It's in these moments that the psychology of investing becomes paramount — balancing fear with rational analysis and resisting the urge to make emotional moves that could undermine long-term performance.
Will my hot streak of avoiding assignments finally come to an end? Only time will tell. What I do know is that staying grounded, disciplined, and focused on risk management is the best way to navigate the turbulence. Happy trading!

Market Sentiment: Fear & Greed Index (CNN) Current reading: 39— The market moved back into the Fear range. The Put/Call Ratio: Greed — Options traders are heavily favoring calls over puts, a bullish signal. Vix Latest reading: 17.62.

My goal is to receive $3,000 — $4,000 per week with "sell to open" calls and puts. The more my cash size grows the more CSP positions I can trade. What an ideal strategy for both safeguarding capital and generating steady returns. I maintain a conservative approach and my return on risk is outlined below.

I calculate the weekly premium based on when I close the position. Why? Because I could close a position early, and that will change the amount gained.
